HK-Shenzhen Errand Log: When Perishable Food Meets a Considerate Client, Responsibility is Our Answer
This particular mission was one of the most heartwarming experiences our team has had!
A client entrusted us with two boxes of specialty food shipped from Jiangsu (Mainland China). Our task was to retrieve them upon arrival at the Luohu border port and deliver them to two separate locations in Hong Kong: Causeway Bay and Sheung Shui.
It started as a standard Mainland courier transfer job, but an unexpected delay made it truly memorable.
The Unexpected Delay: A Late-Night Arrival
The courier package, scheduled for the afternoon, was delayed and didn’t arrive at the Luohu pickup point until 7:00 or 8:00 PM.
When we contacted the client to arrange the night-time delivery, she was incredibly thoughtful! Worried about our runner’s safety, she said, “It’s so late, and you’re a girl, running a delivery to Causeway Bay is too hard. It’s okay, just send it tomorrow.”
Our Stance: Fresh Food Can’t Wait!
We were truly touched by her kindness. However… as a professional errand team, we knew one thing: that was two boxes of perishable food.
For cross-border food delivery, freshness is everything. If we let the food sit overnight at the port just because the client was being nice, what if it spoiled? That would betray the client’s trust and damage the Zerrand reputation.
The “Early Bird” Solution: A Race for Freshness
We reassured the client that night: “Don’t worry, we will ensure it gets to you in the freshest state possible.”
Zerrand’s solution: Our team dispatched a runner to be at the Luohu pickup point at 9:00 AM sharp the next morning to retrieve the two heavy boxes.
The order required a split delivery (Causeway Bay & Sheung Shui), so we immediately optimized the route: Deliver to the furthest point first—Causeway Bay on Hong Kong Island.
- By just past 10:00 AM, our runner had already crossed the border, traversed the city, and successfully delivered the first box of food to the client in Causeway Bay!
The Client’s Praise: “You Are So Responsible!”
The client was amazed by the speed, praising us repeatedly: “You are so responsible! I was worried the food would go bad, but I can’t believe it arrived this early. Thank you so much, I will definitely find you next time!”
Receiving this kind of recognition from such a thoughtful client is the best reward. Knowing that our professionalism and dedication ensured this fresh food arrived on time makes all the effort worthwhile!
