The “Keep-Alive” Challenge: How We Delivered Live Hairy Crabs to Hong Kong Ocean Park
Autumn is hairy crab season. But for foodies separated by the border, the ultimate question is: How do you get premium Suzhou crabs to a Hong Kong dinner table… alive?
Recently, the Zerrand team undertook one of these “freshness-critical” missions.
The Client’s Dilemma: A Cross-Border Relay from Suzhou to Ocean Park
A client ordered a batch of live hairy crabs from Suzhou, Jiangsu province. They had them shipped via mainland courier (like SF Express) to our pickup point at the Shenzhen Luohu border.
But their final destination was Hong Kong Ocean Park.
This meant we had to:
- Intercept Precisely: Meet the package within the “golden hour” of its arrival at Luohu Port.
- Ensure “Keep-Alive” Status: Guarantee the live items were kept cool and secure during the cross-border transit.
- Handle a Complex Destination: Delivering to a theme park is far more complicated than a residential address.
